Sponsored ads appear at the top of search results. They are priced on a CPC (cost per click) model, which means you only pay when a user clicks on your products.

Using sponsored listings as an Allegro ad format has a huge advantage – these ads are contextually relevant to the user’s query. This means that they are only shown to consumers who are actually interested in a particular product.

Allegro Ads Graphic Advertising

Another format is Allegro Ads Graphic Advertising. This type of advertising on Allegro is primarily recommended for sellers who want to increase their reach and brand recognition, for example by using logos. As the name suggests, this type of campaign is run using graphics and templates. With Allegro Ads Graphic campaign, it is possible to promote the entire range of products.

Allegro Ads Graphical Advertising can take the form of banner advertising or template advertising. The first one is used to present your offer to users, while the second displays your brand logo, advertising slogan and two selected offers.

This type of ad is displayed based on appropriately selected keywords that users potentially interested in purchasing your product type enter into the search box.

External Allegro ads

Setting up Allegro Ads yourself

If you want to start running an Allegro Ads campaign, you can do it yourself. But how?

Sponsored offers

In order to set up sponsored offers, you need to take the following steps:

  • Click ‘Add Campaign’ in the Allegro Ads panel.
  • Select ‘Sponsored offers’ as the campaign type and click ‘Configure campaign’.
  • Add a campaign name and ad groups
  • Select the listings you wish to promote
  • Select one of the four offer options in the panel:
    • Advertise all listings (recommended for the very beginning of the campaign)
    • Automatically promote bestsellers
    • Set rules for listings
    • Manual selection of listings
  • Choose where to place your ads
  • Set budget, maximum CPC, impression date and total budget

Graphic advertising

There are two types of graphic advertising: template advertising and banner advertising.

To set up a template ad yourself

  • In the Allegro Ads panel, click ‘Add Campaign’.
  • Select ‘Graphic Advertising’ as the campaign type and click ‘Configure Campaign’.
  • Give your campaign and ad group a name
  • Select the brand to promote (you will need to add it first)
  • Select the type of ad – in this case, template ads
  • Fill in the fields: ad name, ad content, link to which the ad will be directed
  • Select the offers to advertise
  • Select the reach of the ad category and add keywords and exclusion words
  • Determine where the ad will appear
  • Specify the daily budget, total budget, maximum CPM and impression dates
  • Click ‘Create an advert

However, to set up a banner ad:

  • In the Allegro Ads panel, click ‘Add Campaign’.
  • Select ‘Graphic Advertising’ as the campaign type and click ‘Configure Campaign’.
  • Give the campaign and ad group a name
  • Select the brand to promote
  • Select an ad type – Banner Ads
  • Add the name of the ad, a link to the list of listings on Allegro and two banners in .jpg or .png format with dimensions of 932×125 pixels and 1080×288 pixels.
  • Select the categories in which you want your ad to appear
  • Add keywords and exclude words
  • Select where you would like your ad to appear
  • Specify budget and publication dates

However, when creating a banner ad, it is important to remember that Allegro has introduced a number of guidelines that must be followed. So what should a banner ad campaign look like?

  • It cannot contain a specific price
  • It cannot contain uncensored or inaccurate content
  • A banner cannot advertise a single product
  • Margins must be included in the graphics
  • Cannot use all caps or improper alignment of text
  • Do not use the Allegro logo on the banner
  • No text imitating buttons on the banner
  • Graphics must not link to external online stores
