In 2015, Getin Bank prepared an unusual offer for students. For every ‘A’ grade in their final exams, the bank deposited 50 PLN in the student’s newly-opened account.
We need to make a splashamong all the promotional offers running before and during exam sessions. We also wanted to collect leads and increase the number of new accounts that were created.
“Getin Bank cheers on our students!” – in order for studentsto enjoy the rewards of good grades, they need a little motivation to them get through that tough pre-exam revision period. That’s why we sent cheerleading teams to the largest learning establishments in Poland, in Warsaw, Cracow, and Wroclaw.
We wrote and recorded a song, designed costumes, and, with a little help from the Slask Wroclaw cheerleading squad, worked on the choreography. Teams of dancers thenvisited universities just before exam sessions and sprung a surprise on the unsuspecting students. As well as bringing alittle positive atmosphere, the cheerleaders handed out information and gathered leads of students interested in opening an account.
We prepared a Facebook app to widen the reach of our activities. Users could send a personalized film to friends with the cheerleaders doing their stuff. A special program augmented the song in the film with the recipient’s name chosen from over 100 pre-recorded examples. At the end of the movie, the cheerleaders brought up an automatically-loaded picture of the chosen friend.
We topped it all off with a contest to win iPads and smartphones, with an additional mechanism that improved participants’ chances of winning.
In spite of ‘cramming’ to meet the tight deadline, we passed everything with flying colors, and the application gained thousands of unique users.
